Session Report # 1

Session #1: Three adventurers descended into Undermountain on the 22nd of Nightal, 1492 DR (the year of three ships sailing).

The party explored the first few chambers of Undermountain, forced a goblin they encountered to set off a magical trap which killed the goblin (Groin)  The party then freed the other goblin (Pibble), who they captured and proceeded into a set of chambers where the goblins told them there was a vampire nest. 

The supposed group of vampires, calling themselves "the undertakers" curbstomped the party.  After taking down two of the party members, the undertakers offered to allow the barbarian to join their group.  However the barbarian refused, and was slain by the undertakers, who continued to attack him after he fell.

The remaining two party members made their death saving throws, and woke up several hours later with no equipment whatsoever in a dark room.  They have not returned to the Yawning Portal as they did not have any money to pay for return passage.  These party members are presumed dead.

First, Aeoth--who began his career as a lowly 1/8 CR guard henchman--was given the Barony of Zundbridge.  Upon arriving in Zundbridge, Baron Aeoth discovered that his new town was suffering from a deadly plague--and spent roughly 3.5 weeks of downtime trying to save as many people in his new town from dying of the sewer plague.  (Aeoth is not available for play or downtime until June 22). How I run Downtime and the Calendar:

 What is downtime? Downtime is what happens between sessions of D&D.  For example, between two recent sessions, one of my players spent his downtime buying powdered diamonds, and building a collapsable scaffold so that he could cast multiple glyphs of warding (essentially D&D landmines that only are triggered by a particular creature or creature type) to set a massive explosive trap for an Aboleth in the sewers of Waterdeep.  Downtime gives the players freedom to pursue their own sidegoals, and flesh out their characters, without taking up time when everyone is sitting down to play the actual campaign. Downtime ALSO allows the WORLD to change, adapt, and react to the actions of the players.  So for example, early in the campaign, the players spent a few sessions delving into a crypt in the City of the Dead (a cross between Central Park and a cemetery--probably best avoided at night, you might run into the crazy bird lady from Home Alone 2).  This particular crypt is owned by a

Session #25

The 25th session was played on June 7, 2021 (Kythorn 7, 1493 DR).  There were three characters present: Lord Valian Lightfinger, Lord Fradd, and Lord Vanilla Gold.  All three are playing as rogues.  So despite their recent enoblement at the end of session #24, the party decided they wanted to go on a "heist" against a noble villa that Valian Lightfinger scoped out during downtime a few weeks ago. However, first, the party went to meet with the Zhentarim.  Specifically Valian was looking for the information he hired to Zhentarim to obtain for him--a report on the whereabouts of the Black Viper (or Diane Roznar).  Because they didn't check in to give him the report this week.  The Zhentarim seemed sort of preocupied when Valian showed up to ask for information on the two footpads he had hired to track down Lady Roznar.  But Valian's Zhent contacts did inform him that his two Zhentarim footpads had gone missing about a week prior, and havent been seen since.
